A Plea to Karpal Singh

If there's one thing I've learned in the last two weeks (and there isn't much), it's that Google can be a pretty good indicator of what people want.

And judging from what dozens of highly insistent Google search terms have told me, what they want is "karpal singh blog".

Okay, the spelling's a little off for this one, but the intent is pretty darn clear!

I think they're on to something.

Sir, speaking as someone who briefly knew your nephew back in the Malaysian Students' Association in La Trobe University (whatever happened to him, anyway?), I know you're probably busy enough as it is with your legal and political obligations. But after Tian Chua's mishandling of the Najib/Altantuya Shaariibuu story, what the Malaysian Opposition needs is a firm online presence, one that projects authority and wisdom, something that's sorely lacking from the poseurs we have right now.

More importantly, people listen to you when you have something important to say.

You're easily one of the most respected politicians and lawyers in Malaysia. You're the go-to guy for anyone who wants to fight the system. The Parliament of New South Wales even devoted time for a brief tribute to you (where did that come from, anyway?). Hell, people are scared shitless of you! My dad always talks about how people in the witness stand wet their pants the moment you furrow your eyebrows at them. (He may have exaggerated.)

Plus there are only so many Malaysian lawyers contributing their thoughts and knowledge of Malaysian law online, and we could always use more. Few certainly have done what you've done for as long as you have, or as well as you have.

And who on earth wouldn't want to read a blog written by the feared Tiger of Jelutong himself?

A Karpal Singh blog would be pretty darn compelling by virtue of it being by Karpal Singh.

So please, on behalf of the entire Malaysian blogosphere (inasmuch as I hate using that word), start a blog! Raise the level of political discourse!
Shake things up! Give in to temptation! You know you want to. Kit Siang can't do it all by himself.

There's a hungry audience out there, and a void that needs filling up quick.

I reckon his writing would be just as good, if not better, then his speech. Come on, they are his words...!

That would be a good read...and I would be craving for his posts if he comes up with one..lol..!

KARPAL SINGH..ENTER THE MALAYSIAN BLOGOSPHERE..!

Mirror Me: Lots of people seem to hate it 'cause it's not nearly as wacky as the first book. I liked it; it's different, yes, but also a bit more dramatic and interesting, I think.

Innocenté: Don't suppose there are copies of his speeches or written work online? That'd be neat.
